The designer behind the world

Ilda Nóbrega grew up among medieval Portuguese towns and ancient ruins, surrounded by centuries of pattern wisdom embedded in tile, stone, and textile. She didn't set out to document that world. She set out to invent one.

Allure and Weft is that invention. Its flowers don't grow anywhere real. Its birds are knowing and strange. Its buildings carry stories that actual buildings rarely manage. Everything is imagined — and held inside the enduring structures of historic pattern design: architectural grids, bold outlines, separated color fields, motifs built to last.

Ilda trained in Interior Design and Architectural Studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia, with a background spanning Lighting Design and Fashion Design. She now works from Prairie Village, Kansas, designing patterns that feel as though they were always there — waiting to be found.

All products are produced exclusively on demand. No overproduction. No waste. A world worth preserving deserves a practice that preserves it.
